I think the perfect way to describe Lover by Taylor Swift would be as the older sister of 1989. Lover is an incredible pop album, and was the first album Swift released while signed to her new record label, Republic Records. The album features many dance worthy pop songs that have a similar attitude as songs found on 1989. Considering this was her first release with

Republic Records it was a big deal for Taylor because this was her first album that she owned.
Lover is one of my favorite albums by Taylor, but many people don't agree. Lover is actually one of the least liked albums by Taylor Swift fans, and that could be for many reasons. Reputation was the album released before Lover, and Reputation is a fan favorite. A lot of the songs on Lover are also really happy and the definition of a pop song. Considering the album is called lover you would assume that most songs are love songs. When Taylor released the album she was dating her long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Most songs are about their relationship and I think maybe that's why I'm such a big fan of the album. I've been with my boyfriend for five years and so many of the songs remind me of our relationship. There are some songs that aren't about her relationship such as "Soon You'll Get Better," which is about Taylor's mom's battle with cancer. My personal favorite songs fr
om Lover are "The Archer," "False God," and "Afterglow." Although, my absolute favorite song is "Daylight.""Daylight" is one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs of all time. It's hard to even pick favorites because I love Lover so much. My favorite albums switch all the time, but Lover is consistently in my top two. It's such a fun album and watching Taylor perform the lover era while on tour was such a fun experience.
