Taylor's first debut album was self-titled. Taylor's first album was released in 2006 and although it was the start of Taylor's career, it's not one of her most popular albums. It is definitely her most country album and in many of the songs you can hear a country accent. Many believe that the accent is fake and was something that Taylor did in her earlier music to fit in, but nothing can be confirmed or denied. Either way, it's what gave Taylor her career.

This album isn't a favorite among the Taylor Swift community. It is the least popular and honestly there are a lot of Taylor fans that hadn't been a fan of her for that long. The first songs I heard of Taylor's were from this album. That includes "Teardrops On My Guitar," "Our Song," Should've Said No," "Picture To Burn," and "Tim McGraw." My favorites now are probably "Tim McGraw" and "Our Song." The rest of the songs are okay, but not something I listen to very often. Taylor said her album was inspired by people like Shania Twain and The Chicks. She had written songs for entire life and sang them at random shows around her hometown. She was born in Pennsylvania, but eventually moved to Nashville, Tennessee to help further her music career. This is when she caught the attention of Scott Borchetta and create a name for herself. As much as people ignore this album, it is what created her career. She was able to promote and perform songs from her album on the CMT Country Music Awards and Good Morning America. She tried really hard and she was extremely successful. Obviously I think Taylor has better albums, but her debut album is iconic and without it we wouldn't have the pop sensation that is Taylor Swift.
